Chief Ronald J. Spero Jr.

Chief Ronald J. Spero, Jr. holds a Bachelor of Professional Studies Degree from S.U.N.Y. Empire State College and a Master of Public Administration Degree from Marist College. He joined the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department in 1988. He is a graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy and is a founding member of the departments Polygraph Unit. He has served as a Patrol Officer, Patrol Sergeant, Traffic Sergeant, Lieutenant and Patrol Captain. He was promoted to Chief of Police on May 30, 2015 and served as Chief until August 30, 2019.
